Technical Archival Metadata

Ottar André Breivik Anderson and Julie McVey have been working on proposals for metadata fields specific to heritage digitization to integrate with IPTC Extension fields. For example, updates to the "Digital Source Type" and "Physical Description" would help the viewer better understand the nature of the image and the history of the content. The Target and Performance Data fields from ANSI Z39.87 would allow the results of FADGI and ISO evaluation to be embedded as one part of a new process metadata field to the IPTC Extension.
